Contract with delivery company completed!

We also completed our contract with UPS.
Now you can finally start selling.

Come to think of it, it took a really long time.

At first, I was optimistic that DHL already had a proven track record and could get a contract at the price I wanted. I was familiar with the procedures and thought there would be nothing difficult about it.

However, that was not the case. This may be normal for them, but it is significantly more expensive than the contract I had with BUYMA.

The weak yen means that sales prices are already high. Adding the price on top of that would be far from what Japanese customers want.

In conclusion, UPS was clearly cheaper.

1. The shipping fee is a little cheaper.
2. No fees for paying customs duties and import consumption tax

The number 1 is not that big, but the number 2 is big. I was surprised because I had never noticed it before because I had been using DHL.

There is a 1,980 yen fee for DHL to pay the tax on my behalf. I thought it was natural that they would charge a fee since they were doing it for me, but UPS is free.

I didn't understand it well so I asked customer support, and they said it was free after all.

It would be a different story if DHL were by far the superior service.

However, even though the quality of DHL and UPS delivery services is not that different, the difference in fees is still significant.

On buyma, a difference of 100 yen or 200 yen can make a difference in customer reaction. 1,980 yen is a huge benefit.

It took a while, but we got a good deal with UPS!
(There are more good points, but we'll get to that later.)
